What Should We Want?

That's the question isn't it. What should we want?

I'm not sure what the answer is and I don't think there's an answer that can be applied to everyone. Except...maybe there is...

Maybe we all want satisfaction, respect, dignity, love, reward, and truth.

Satisfaction is defined as: "fulfillment of one's wishes, expectations, or needs, or the pleasure derived from this."

Respect is defined as: "a feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements."

Love is defined as: "an intense feeling of deep affection."

Reward is defined as: "a thing given in recognition of one's service, effort, or achievement."

Truth is defined as: "that which is true or in accordance with fact or reality."

What if we all wanted these things? What kind of world might we live in, in such a paradigm? Would this be dystopian or would it be pleasurable? Would it be unrealistic or would it be achievable? What we must consider is the proclivity of those of us to understand what might be versus what is. What we might want to be is that of dreams and consolation. What is, is derived from heartbreak and desire, and more importantly our observation. We only discount the things which we want to. Humans only do what they want to do. That is true of all of us. We do what we want to do. It is when we are forced into a situation whence this formality breaks, that we scurry and flee. What might once have been a meer display of fight or flight is a character judgment of how we are as people. What should we describe to our next generations if we destroyed our only true character to be able to elicit the world we live in? We must stand guard in our rule of morals and law. We are masters of our domain only so as we are masters. Let us bask in our revelry of what we can be, and acknowledge what we are, and refuse to go backward. Continue to think differently.
